MUNRO FOOTWEAR GROUP
Australia’s largest privately-owned footwear company runs with Boomi to hasten digital transformation
Business goals
Munro Footwear Group (MFG) is Australia’s largest privately-owned footwear company, offering an extensive portfolio of trusted brands such as Midas, Django and Juliette, Colorado, and Diana Ferrari.
Spurred by a desire to deliver market-leading experiences, MFG decided to strengthen its existing online offering. When COVID-19 hit this was given a sense of urgency, as MFG was forced to temporarily close its brick-and-mortar stores.
Integration Challenges
The footwear industry has historically faced challenges when it comes to embracing online sales, due to the high rate of order returns.
MFG also faced the hurdle of navigating internal complexities when it came to integrating multiple systems, as the organization had conducted eight acquisitions over the past decade. This necessitated the expertise of a specialist to review its requirements, connect its data, integrate multiple systems, and provide the flexibility to connect and unplug new tools and applications without disruption to its services.
How Boomi Helped
To deliver a positive customer experience and solve the historical disconnect between the footwear industry and ecommerce, the organization decided to build an intelligent digital back end that would connect every surface of its operations.
MFG selected Boomi’s low-code, cloud-native integration platform as a service (iPaaS) to integrate the systems that make up its brick-and-mortar and ecommerce operations. With the Boomi Enterprise Platform, MFG was able to bridge its in-house retail application with its enterprise resource planning (ERP) and ordering systems in less than a month.
Results
MFG now has visibility and control over its data, supporting real-time decision-making. With more than 200 integrations currently live, MFG is launching services faster, has the resilience needed to manage external disruptions and further its online expansion, and the flexibility to add new systems and applications as needed.
MFG used Boomi to enable “ship-from-store” capabilities across 26 pilot stores, facilitating business continuity during the pandemic. The new connections also helped MFG mitigate supply chain issues.
