Post Consumer Brands
An iconic packaged goods food manufacturer streamlines new acquisition onboarding, improves data quality, and delivers operational excellence with the Boomi Enterprise Platform.
Business goals
Post Consumer Brands wanted to quickly onboard newly acquired companies, expand its product portfolio, and modernize legacy IT with SaaS applications. The breakfast cereal category pioneer also had plans to streamline supply chain and cash management, enhance partner visibility, and ensure accurate, timely data across all applications.
To achieve this, Post needed a fast, straightforward method for integrating systems and effectively managing master data.
Integration Challenges
As part of a larger legacy software rationalization project, Post’s IT team had offloaded some operations to best-of-breed SaaS applications. This distributed architecture requires a fast, reliable way of moving data between applications. It’s also vital to ensuring consistent, accurate “golden records” across all applications to avoid the propagation of duplicate or old data.
The IT team had been writing custom code in Oracle to create integrations. But CIO TK Balaji wanted to accelerate and simplify development to improve business agility.
How Boomi Helped
Post selected the Boomi Enterprise Platform to tackle its integration and data challenges. Working with Boomi partner PreludeSys, Post embarked on a series of projects leveraging the capabilities of the Boomi Enterprise Platform, including Integration, API Management, DataHub, and Boomi Managed Cloud Service, Boomi’s hosting service for enterprise-scale integrations.
Results
With the Boomi platform in place, Post witnessed significant connectivity improvements across the company’s cloud applications, enabling its migration strategy. Boomi also established master data models for Post’s business and HR data enterprise-wide.
The integration helped standardize MRO data, while JDE, Cosmos DB, and Kinaxis Maestro integrations enhanced supply chain management. Boomi’s API security and management capabilities, along with Okta integration, streamlined API operations. Post now has a repeatable process for integrating acquisitions, with 12 developers trained on the Boomi platform.
