Multiquip, Inc.

Global construction equipment firm uses Boomi to vault past rivals, turning its parts business into an agent-powered revenue engine while cutting order time.

Business goals

Multiquip, Inc. supplies construction equipment and portable prime power generation in a fiercely competitive market where customer satisfaction is a key differentiator. In an industry not known for innovation, Multiquip set out to lead in responsible AI adoption, with three goals in mind:

  • Outpace Rivals: compete on equal footing with larger, better-resourced competitors also deploying AI
  • Accelerate Service: supercharge the ordering process so customers get back up and running fast
  • Drive Revenue: turn the parts business into a growth engine by increasing transaction size and demand

Integration Challenges

Multiquip’s parts catalog is staggering: 200,000 SKUs spanning more than 700 pieces of equipment. Every customer call sent the 10-person service team searching over 1,000 manuals and hundreds of PDFs across disconnected systems — a manual process that could take 10+ minutes per inquiry, was error-prone, and couldn’t scale with growing demand. To fix this, Multiquip partnered with Jade Global, a Boomi Platinum Partner, to build a production-grade, customer-facing agent using Boomi Agentstudio.

How Boomi Helped

The AI agent interprets natural language queries, understands industry jargon, and retrieves accurate parts data through a single conversational interface — connecting systems that previously couldn’t easily integrate, including Documoto, SAP, SmartEquip ecommerce, Snowflake, and Microsoft Azure Blob Storage. Customers enter details like model or serial numbers, and the agent retrieves part information, provides a confirmation diagram, and completes the transaction in seconds. It also recommends related parts and services, and routes customers to a human specialist when needed.

Results

Beyond cutting development time in half by converting existing integrations into agent tools instead of building from scratch, Multiquip expects to:

  • Drive a projected 3% increase in parts revenue
  • Improve response time 5–10x over phone calls — a 90% reduction in lookup time and 3–4x higher support productivity
  • Free technicians to focus on complex, high-value customer interactions

Early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive — even from an industry typically skeptical of new technology.
