Few IT leaders have more experience with integration solutions than Sivasena “Siva” Reddy. Throughout his nearly two-decade career in technology, Siva has implemented most of the commonly known integration tools, including legacy solutions such as TIBCO, webMethods, and MuleSoft.
However, when he left his role as Integration Capability Head at Capgemini to launch his own consulting firm, Siva wanted to specialize in one forward-thinking platform vendor that would enable him to pursue his passion for helping businesses connect systems, data, and processes: Boomi.
“I started Capgemini’s Boomi practice in 2012 with just a couple of team members,” said Siva, CEO of RESKOM. “Over time, I scaled that practice to more than 120 Boomi experts. That experience is what ultimately led me to found RESKOM as a boutique firm focused exclusively on Boomi. We made a deliberate decision to specialize rather than spread ourselves across multiple platforms. From my perspective, Boomi stands out as a mature and established integration platform with a clear long-term vision. Its continued investment in areas like AI, automation, and composable integration aligns well with where customers want to take their integration strategies over the next several years.
“It’s why we only do Boomi.”
The RESKOM team helps organizations modernize their integration landscapes by transitioning from legacy or constrained integration platforms to Boomi. For instance, RESKOM has developed an innovative migration framework that can automatically convert up to 60% of existing MuleSoft assets into Boomi – significantly accelerating migration timelines and reducing overall effort.
We spoke with Siva to understand why integration has become more critical than ever, how RESKOM delivers measurable value to customers, and the firm’s deep expertise in helping organizations migrate from MuleSoft to Boomi. We’ve edited portions of the conversation for length and clarity.
Tell us about RESKOM’s value proposition.
Sivasena Reddy: Having spent many years at a Tier One organization like Capgemini, I gained deep exposure to large-scale integration programs. But I also saw a gap in the market. Many mid-market and commercial organizations want the same architectural rigor and delivery quality, but in a more focused and cost-effective model. That insight led to the founding of RESKOM. From Day One, our goal has been simple: deliver enterprise-grade Boomi expertise with high customer satisfaction, without unnecessary overhead. I also strongly believe that specialization matters. Rather than spreading ourselves across multiple platforms, we chose to focus exclusively on Boomi. Boomi has consistently been recognized as a Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for iPaaS and is clearly investing in areas like AI, automation, and composable integration. That long-term vision aligns well with where our customers are headed. That focus allows us to go deeper, move faster, and deliver better outcomes.
Could you elaborate on your Boomi expertise?
Sivasena Reddy: Today, RESKOM has 45 consultants – all certified on Boomi. More importantly, they are certified and experienced across the complete Boomi platform, and not just core integration. Our team works extensively with Boomi API Management, EDI, Data Hub, and Flow. We continually invest in upskilling, dedicating time every week to ensure our consultants stay current with the latest platform capabilities. I am also a certified MuleSoft architect, and we intentionally train our senior architects across both MuleSoft and Boomi. That dual-platform understanding is critical, especially when customers are modernizing or migrating. It allows us to design migrations that are practical, efficient, and aligned with Boomi best practices rather than simple one-to-one rewrites.
Are you seeing businesses shift away from legacy technologies?
Sivasena Reddy: Yes, very clearly. Roughly half of our customers are moving from legacy or incumbent integration platforms to Boomi. We see this across multiple technologies, with customers migrating from Microsoft BizTalk, IBM Gentran, and even managed EDI providers like SPS Commerce. In many cases, these platforms have become difficult to scale, expensive to maintain, or too rigid to support modern, event-driven integration needs. Boomi offers a compelling alternative by combining ease of use, strong visibility, and enterprise-grade capabilities in a single platform.
What are the common pain points for businesses?
Sivasena Reddy: One thing we hear about is a lack of operational visibility. With many legacy platforms, understanding what is running, what has failed, and why it happened often requires deep technical expertise and log analysis. Boomi fundamentally changes that experience. The intuitive interface allows both technical and non-technical users to clearly see execution flows, data movement, and failures. That visibility is critical post-implementation. Many customers prefer to manage integrations in-house rather than rely on external vendors for day-to-day support. Boomi’s low-code approach, combined with strong monitoring and transparency, makes that possible. It’s not only easy to build on Boomi. It’s also easy to operate and maintain, which is equally important.
What do you see as the challenges around MuleSoft?
Sivasena Reddy: One challenge customers frequently raise relates to cost predictability and scalability, particularly around licensing. MuleSoft’s capacity-based licensing model can be difficult to manage for organizations with highly variable transaction volumes. For example, in retail scenarios where traffic spikes dramatically during seasonal events such as Black Friday or Cyber Monday, customers often need to size their environments to accommodate peak capacity year-round, or plan upgrades months in advance. This lack of elasticity slows business agility. As a result, many organizations are looking for integration platforms that allow them to scale more naturally in response to demand, without complex or lengthy procurement cycles.
Are there other issues?
Sivasena Reddy: From what we see in the market, MuleSoft is often closely aligned with the broader Salesforce ecosystem. Meanwhile, as many organizations implement modernization initiatives, they’re reassessing their integration platforms to ensure they align with long-term enterprise and technology strategies. Our customers are increasingly seeking platforms that are easier to maintain, more cost-effective at scale, and better positioned for future capabilities such as AI-driven integration and automation. This reassessment has led many MuleSoft customers to explore Boomi as a long-term strategic platform. That ultimately motivated us to invest in a structured migration framework to support that transition.
Could you explain that framework?
Sivasena Reddy: It’s called Renova, derived from a Latin word that means “seamless transformation.” Truthfully, I did some research using ChatGPT. Renova is designed to accelerate MuleSoft-to-Boomi migrations by automatically converting a significant portion, typically up to 60% of existing MuleSoft assets into Boomi processes. While specific components still require manual refinement, the framework dramatically reduces overall migration effort and timelines. Rather than rewriting integrations from scratch over many months, Renova enables customers to complete migrations much faster and with greater confidence. Because our team has deep, hands-on experience with both platforms, we know precisely what can be automated and where targeted manual effort is required. The result is a faster, lower-risk migration with minimal disruption to business operations.
Can you share a success story with us?
Sivasena Reddy: We recently worked with a European industrial technology company migrating from MuleSoft to Boomi. The engagement involved around 10 highly complex APIs.
Using Renova, we were able to automatically migrate approximately 55% to 58% of the MuleSoft logic and complete the implementation within three to four weeks. One of the most powerful aspects of Renova is that it does not require system access during the initial migration phase. The framework understands MuleSoft structures and converts the code directly, significantly reducing the customer’s involvement during discovery. This approach not only accelerates delivery but also minimizes the time customers need to spend explaining existing integrations, something that is often a major bottleneck in migration projects.
What’s next for the RESKOM-Boomi partnership?
Sivasena Reddy: We have recently signed additional MuleSoft-to-Boomi migration engagements, which reflect growing market demand. Looking ahead, our vision for Renova extends beyond MuleSoft. We are actively expanding the framework to support migrations from other platforms, including SPS Commerce. This adds a new dimension to our partnership with Boomi by helping customers modernize their integration landscape faster, with less risk, and with a clear path toward a future-ready platform.
