This article recaps the Boomi Enterprise Platform August 2024 release and highlights recently delivered product features. For a full list of what’s included in the release, see the detailed release notes.
Let’s take a look at the highlights in this release.
API Management
The Boomi API Control Plane is here! Our API Control Plane provides visibility into and control over all of your APIs across Boomi — plus seven other cloud- and third-party API gateway providers. The API Governance dashboard gives a holistic view of API quality and security, API Products group related APIs into an easily consumable package, and a new developer portal includes enhanced customization and control for internal or external API consumers. Boomi AI
In the Boomi Scribe agent, we’ve removed the Final Summary section in generated documentation and incorporated the details in the Overview section. Boomi Scribe now responds with summary details as expected when you prompt it with a request for a summary and a component ID.
In the Boomi Answers agent, we improved the relevancy of community article links provided by Boomi Answers based on user queries.
B2B/EDI
We’ve rolled out an enhancement to HL7 profiles that you’ll experience when using the previously released enhanced composite feature. This update ensures that special characters within HL7 messages are properly handled, maintaining data integrity and improving the reliability of health data exchanges.
Connectivity
Our Database V2 connector now includes a transaction capability, through commit and rollback functions. With this new feature, you can execute multiple database operations as a single unit of work, ensuring that all operations commit or rollback together. We also have new recipes that showcase this feature, along with some best practices to get you started.
We have a brand new Stripe connector in tech preview. Please check out this new connector and share your feedback through the tech preview community forum. We look forward to your collaboration as we continue to refine and enhance the connector.
We also have another new partner connector to enable integration with Skyflow vaults for data localization, privacy and protection. The new Skyflow-Partner connector will help isolate your PII, PCI, and HIPAA data flowing through Boomi with globally distributed Skyflow vaults.
The Solace PubSub+ – Partner connector has been updated to respond to container shutdown events, allowing the listener process to terminate more gracefully and avoid message loss.
Finally, all our technology connectors now feature a fresh new look with updated connector icons. These visual improvements are intended to make these connectors more intuitive and readily discoverable in the canvas.
Integration
The latest Boomi Integration update introduces an enhancement for customers utilizing process properties and environment extensions in the Boomi platform. These enhancements aim to ensure that your processes are not negatively impacted by structural changes to the component or property.
In the Boomi UI, modifications to change a data type for a process property component will no longer be permitted once saved, with an information message indicating this restriction. Additionally, new properties can have their data types modified until the component is saved again, after which those types also become immutable.
This enhancement will also be reflected via the component API. These enhancements aim to improve consistency and reliability in data type handling, providing a better experience for users managing process properties and environment extensions.
As mentioned in the July release highlights, this release includes a change to the event object API. This change may impact you if you utilize the processID information returned by the API. For more information, please refer to this community article.
Boomi DataHub
A new name and enhanced capabilities: Boomi Master Data Hub is now Boomi DataHub. This change reflects the platform’s expanded capabilities, including advanced data management features. With new Repository API endpoints for finer control over staged entities, you can streamline your data operations and ensure data quality. Boomi remains committed to delivering a robust, reliable, and efficient data management solution.
Publishing and Partners
This release includes enhancements that make it easier for users to connect to their key applications. We are enabling OAuth token generation/regeneration in connections that are shared in Boomi Spaces.
