Verbit

Leading transcription provider unifies subsidiary data using Boomi, automating billing processes and reducing data engineering costs.

Business goals

Verbit, a leader in AI-powered transcription and captioning, expanded through five UK and US acquisitions — each bringing separate data systems that complicated consolidation and analysis. To sustain its rapid growth and operational efficiency, Verbit aimed to unify disparate subsidiary data into a single model, automate billing and transactional workflows, reduce dependence on external data consultants by strengthening its in-house team, and migrate from a rigid on-premises setup to a more flexible, scalable data platform.

Integration Challenges

Verbit’s acquisitions created a complex data landscape with subsidiaries using different systems, formats, and BI maturity levels. The BI team managed multiple tables with similar content but inconsistent structures, creating heavy maintenance and limiting visibility into overall performance. They also handled data for billing and operations, relying on a legacy SQL Server and SSIS warehouse that had grown overly complex and required an external provider to maintain — slowing agility and adding operational strain.

How Boomi Helped

Working with consultancy BIyond, Verbit implemented Boomi Data Integration to unify and automate data processes. Boomi ingested data from all subsidiaries into a consolidated Snowflake model, automated billing and transactional workflows, and powered reverse ETL to push enriched Snowflake data back into NetSuite and Salesforce. With Boomi’s intuitive, SQL-based interface, the internal team became self-sufficient, reducing reliance on external consultants and establishing a scalable, secure, and flexible data platform for future growth.

Results

Boomi delivered major improvements for Verbit, consolidating subsidiary data into a unified model for comprehensive analytics. Automated billing reduced errors and accelerated operations, while eliminating external consultant costs allowed the team to expand capabilities without adding headcount. With Boomi, the BI team can quickly integrate new subsidiaries and implement logic changes. Reverse ETL ensures business users get real-time insights directly in their operational systems, enabling Verbit to effectively support its growth and M&A strategy.
