MMA Offshore

Australian marine and subsea services provider used Boomi to simplify employee management and logistics as it expanded its global reach

Business Goals

Based in Perth, Australia, MMA Offshore is a global marine services provider with 19 vessels and 1,100+ employees. As it transitioned from vessel operations to an integrated services provider serving new markets like offshore wind, government and defense, and coastal infrastructure, MMA embraced digital transformation to improve agility and optimize growth.

A key element of this initiative was to strengthen data management across the business, specifically streamlining employee management and logistics.

Integration Challenges

MMA’s business applications operated in siloed information sources, forcing its Information Services team to spend substantial time building individual connections to move data between systems. Human Resources and other departments had to manually enter employee master data across multiple systems for daily operations.

This complexity slowed operations and hindered data-driven decision-making. MMA needed to eliminate application and data silos to become more efficient and agile.

How Boomi Helped

MMA implemented Boomi’s integration platform as a service (iPaaS) to connect its cloud and on-premises applications like ERP, scheduling, travel systems, and payroll. With core systems integrated by Boomi, MMA ensures consistent, accurate data is available where employees need it.

MMA chose Boomi for its ease of use and ability to scale to support unique client project requirements. The platform allows MMA to adapt as it takes on new projects with different data needs.

Results

With Boomi, MMA streamlined staff management and accelerated onboarding by making employee master data instantly available across systems for faster rostering, travel, timesheets, and payroll. The Boomi-connected environment also ensures employee certifications are current across platforms, giving personnel teams access to the right scheduling data for quick project turnarounds.

MMA’s IT team now has more time for strategic initiatives. It plans to use Boomi Flow to further streamline data collection across business units with a consolidated user interface.
