Lecot is a Belgian family-owned distributor of construction tools and fittings with over 135 years of experience. As its digital ecosystem expanded, managing various applications and integrations became increasingly complex.
The company aimed for a modern, agile solution to improve business agility and operational efficiency. It wanted a system that would enable business users to engage in the integration process without needing technical expertise, reducing the burden on its small IT team.
Integration Challenges
With Lecot’s applications and data sources expanding, managing the point-to-point integrations between six core applications including Salesforce, Shopware, and an ERP platform became increasingly difficult. Each integration required customization, leading to delays and inaccuracies in data flows, which affected inventory displays and pricing in Lecot’s webshop.
The IT team struggled with integration issues due to poor visibility and traceability, diverting their focus from strategic goals.
How Boomi Helped
Lecot partnered with the integration specialist Blents to implement the Boomi Enterprise Platform. Boomi facilitates the seamless flow of data, including product information, pricing, and online orders, by connecting Lecot’s ERP, Salesforce, Shopware, and Microsoft Azure applications.
Lecot rapidly scaled, deploying 50+ message flows across six platforms and handling thousands of daily data transactions. It uses Boomi API Management to connect its on-premises ERP with external cloud applications, securely exposing and managing APIs, controlling access, monitoring usage, and enforcing policies.
Results
Boomi enabled Lecot to achieve agility, extensibility, and a scalable, manageable tech environment. Business users are now citizen integrators, designing and maintaining integrations with Boomi’s visual tools; while webshop pricing updates are in real-time.
