How Boomi Makes Data Activation Happen

Recently, I was at dinner, and we were chatting about a movie. Someone asked, “Who was in that film?” None of us could remember. So, I raised my wrist and asked Siri on my Apple Watch. Immediately, we had our answer. That kind of instant access to data is something we’ve come to expect in our everyday lives. But in business, it’s never as easy as saying, “I need access to this data.” You have to log into a system. You need credentials or an extended sign-on process. If the information isn’t there, you have to navigate a fragmented landscape of applications searching for it. Then, there’s the biggest issue of all. When you get an answer, can you trust the accuracy? Discovering, retrieving, and deploying digital information is how I think about data activation. Just having data isn’t much use to your business if you don’t know where to find it, how to extract it, or how to use it to achieve meaningful business outcomes. And today, the paradigm is completely shifting. As AI agents become more prevalent across our organizations, the ability to mobilize data is the dividing line between winners and losers. My colleague Mani Gill has a thoughtful way of describing the mounting data challenges in our increasingly complex operations. He notes that traditionally, data movement served people and systems. It enabled employees to perform analytical work through dashboards and reports while also allowing systems to “talk” to one another. But now, we have agents. They require secure, contextualized, high-fidelity data to work on our behalf. That’s because agents don’t understand anything about our businesses until we provide access to the data that teaches them. When you think about data that way, everything changes. Customers who deploy our data management solutions have never had problems addressing data readiness – and that continues in the age of Agentic AI. The Boomi Enterprise Platform enables our customers to gain a competitive advantage by ensuring that agents embedded in workflows everywhere have the most trusted, real-time, contextual data to take action. Our latest innovations are the next steps toward helping businesses accelerate data activation.

Boomi Product Enhancements

Boomi Meta Hub

Metadata management products catalog digital information to make it easier for people to find what they need. Think of it as “the data about the data.” But they typically tend to be clunky and not very useful. They’re also not designed for providing the instant data access required by agents. Boomi Meta Hub changes the game. It’s primarily intended for cataloging data so agents can access it quickly. Boomi CEO Steve Lucas often says that the staggering amounts of data within our organizations represent the new “sand.” It’s a Sahara Desert of data, and most of it isn’t helpful. Boomi Meta Hub excels as a glossary, making it easy to identify the valuable grains of sand that agents need to improve their accuracy. This eliminates the contextual disconnect that causes agents to go off-task. Establishing a common language with semantic association and universal lineage ensures agents and humans understand exactly what the data represents, replacing manual, error-prone mapping with a single source of truth that drives accurate reasoning and operational efficiency. null

Snowflake Cortex AI Provider Support

Boomi Agentstudio, which we released in 2025, reduces risk controls agent sprawl by governing them, no matter where they’re built or who builds them. We’re expanding that capability by adding Snowflake Cortex, the fully managed, enterprise-grade AI service embedded within Snowflake. Boomi will now be able to help customers govern Snowflake agents in the same way we handle other agents, such as those from Microsoft Copilot, AWS Bedrock, and Salesforce Agentforce. Businesses can manage agents directly on governed Snowflake data, with visibility to confidently scale their deployments. It’s another tool to expand the power and breadth of Boomi Agentstudio for customers. null

Agent Session Logs

Another improvement to the Boomi Agentstudio suite is how we’re providing greater visibility and observability into agents through our Agent Control Tower, which monitors them with a centralized registry to reduce security and compliance risks. That increases confidence in production-ready agents and drives broader adoption with transparency into the agent chain of thought and reasoning. This enables customers to quickly troubleshoot and optimize workflows. null

AI Agent Recommendations

We’ve introduced an AI feature inside Boomi Agentstudio that makes recommendations based on what you have done previously within the platform. It will offer account-specific suggestions for agents you can implement. Think of it as AI identifying opportunities to use AI for your business. It accelerates the path from initial deployment to high-value workflow automation. null

Boomi for SAP Data Connector

SAP customers know that data movement within that ecosystem is smooth. The challenge is connecting SAP to all your other critical applications and data sources. Integrating SAP with the larger digital landscape has always been a Boomi strong suit. Now that we’ve fully incorporated our Rivery acquisition into the Boomi Enterprise Platform, we’re strengthening our SAP data management capabilities. We’ve widened the volume of data we can move with automated ELT pipelines, ensuring reliable, flexible, and continuous data ingestion to feed AI’s insatiable appetite for high-quality, large-scale data. We’ve also added cutting-edge Change Data Capture (CDC) capabilities to our integration features. The bottom line is we’re helping customers modernize SAP by unlocking that data so they can leverage it across all operations. null

Data Connector Agent Enhancement

Another benefit of bringing Rivery into our platform is expanding access to a broader range of data sources through flexible connectors. These native or custom integrations further support AI initiatives by supporting agentic workflows with the right data.

Agentstudio Multi-Region

Our 2025 release of Boomi Agentstudio gave customers a one-stop solution for easily building, governing, and orchestrating AI agents with intelligent guardrails across their end-to-end lifecycle. Customers have complete control over the agents that are taking actions on their behalf. Until now, Agentstudio has been running solely in North America. So again, with the importance of data control growing, we’re taking our Agentstudio capabilities global, specifically in Europe and Australia, to make it easier for businesses to account for the localization and governance of metadata associated with agents and models.

European Platform Instance

Boomi pioneered the integration platform as a service (iPaaS) category. From the very beginning, our architectural design differentiated us from competitors with a distributed runtime to facilitate hybrid cloud flexibility. Not only does this give customers the ability to deploy the runtime wherever they want (on premises, in the cloud, at the edge), but they always have physical custody of their data. That’s more important than ever, given the rise of data residency regulations. We’re expanding our platform’s ability to de-risk concerns with an additional step: a new, regionally independent control plane. This brings the platform closer to end users, reducing latency while improving performance. What this localized architecture means for customers is that we’re going even further to support regulatory requirements to keep sensitive data within country borders.

Boomi Powers Data Activation

Data at rest is potential. But data in motion is power. The theme to all of these platform enhancements is simple. They help customers activate data with trusted context, compliance, and the required sovereignty to reach their agentic AI goals. We connect systems, metadata, and agents to resolve the fragmentation that hinders AI reasoning, allowing enterprises to automate complex workflows with accuracy and security. Every organization is on an AI journey. But you won’t travel at the speed of autonomous business without the data to fuel it. Boomi doesn’t aspire to be the data activation company. It’s who we already are.

Attend our upcoming “Data Activated” webinar on March 24 to learn more about how data context is the foundation for successful business outcomes with AI.
