Boomi Labs & Discover
Boomi Labs and Discover enable users to easily share and install Boomi assets from the different products across the platform.
Our first roadmap theme for this year is simplified sharing to enhance the sharing capabilities within our Bundles and Spaces functionality. Bundles provide users with the ability to create, manage, install, and share multi-product solutions, for example an integration process paired with a Boomi Flow. We are enhancing the Bundles UI to improve ease of use, adding the ability to share bundles with account groups to more easily manage sharing at scale, and we will be providing the ability to create and maintain multiple versions of a bundle making it easier to revise and enhance them as needed.
Our second theme is enhancing the user guidance, to improve the user experience and increase time to value of the Labs and Discover experiences. Our Spaces product provides the ability to create portals where users can interact with templatized content managed by admins. We are enhancing the Spaces UI to guide users through a successful installation and execution of integrations. We will also be providing the ability to share, browse, and install bundles in Spaces. Additionally, we are working to allow additional customizations and configurations within the Spaces UI.
Lastly, we are focused on expanding the breadth of solutions within Boomi Discover by making it easier for partners and developers to publish. Discover is a curated publicly available catalog that includes hundreds of pre-built solutions which can be installed into Boomi Enterprise platform accounts. We recently brought Discover into the platform, making it easier to access and install the hundreds of solutions currently available. Within Discover, we are adding additional functionality to make it simpler to browse, search, and install assets and adding additional listings to Boomi Discover to cover more use cases.
As a part of the effort to expand Discover offerings, we recently launched a new Tech Partner Portal, which enables our tech partners to build and publish connectors and solutions on the Boomi Enterprise Platform and in Discover. Head to boomi.to/tpp to learn more and join our Tech Partner Program. To further enhance the partner experience, we are adding a new Discover recipe submission UI into Boomi labs for our Tech Partners. We are enhancing the Tech Partner Portal to be more action oriented and interactive with guided checklists.
Check out the Labs and Discover sections of the platform to explore this functionality.
We’re very excited about delivering these features to help simplify your experience and drive value and productivity. If you have any questions or feedback or would like a further review, please reach out.
Integration
Within the Integration service, we continue to focus efforts around two key themes for us in 2024. Developer and ease of use, as well as lifecycle management.
Focusing on lifecycle management, we released our new component diff APIs, to help users better understand the differences between component versions. See here to learn more about these APIs. Please remember to share your use cases with us, we’d love to learn how you all intend to use these APIs to streamline your development processes. Later this quarter, we will be releasing the complete user experience for the hot fix use case, part of our advanced versioning with branch and merge capabilities. The hot fix use case will be available to our early access customers, and is targeted for GA later this summer. The hot fix capability will enable users to easily create a branch from any deployment or package component, to help streamline how and when production issues are addressed. If you haven’t done so already, please sign up today via https://community.boomi.com/s/tech-preview
With respect to developer and ease of use, in February we released a new look and field for the Integration build canvas. This new experience has undergone considerable updates based on user feedback, and we are on track to make this the default experience for all of our users later this summer. For information on what’s changed, please review this helpful article.
Looking ahead, work is under way to make considerable improvements to the overall usability of the user experience, with focus on addressing common pain points. These updates will include enhancements to tab organization, auto-arrange and many more.

API Management
We continue to deliver key API Management capabilities across three themes: Provider Experience, Consumer Experience, and Policy & Security.
Provider Experience
The Provider Experience is all about providing API Implementers, Owners, or Product Managers a delightful user experience that accelerates the API creation and publication process from end-to-end, while providing insights on the adoption, health, and performance of those APIs to better inform your investments.
The ability to import OpenAPI specifications to begin the API creation process has been enhanced to extract key metadata from the definition file and optionally use it to overwrite fields in the API Service, and existing connections are now optional. Support for API Proxies has also been added to the Lifecycle Manager so they can be managed alongside API Services.
Moving forward, we’re enhancing the look and feel of the provider experience, smoothing the process of managing APIs, and extending our catalog to enable importing and discovery of GraphQL endpoints and AsyncAPI event definitions.
Consumer Experience
The Consumer Experience focuses on enabling application developers coming to a developer portal to discover, learn about, subscribe to, and consume APIs, in order to drive adoption and build better engagement with your developers. We’ve added JWT Authentication to the Portal’s Try-it capability, and introduced additional developer portal customization of navigation tabs, background images, and the login page, greatly enhancing the Portal look-and-feel.
Moving forward, we’ll be enhancing our Developer Portal API for integration with third party or custom portal solutions, then introducing a full Portal refresh to fully address common customer requirements.
Policy & Security
The Policy & Security theme includes enhancements to the core gateway offering as well as additional policies and configuration options that provide more robust capabilities for secure runtime transaction management.
Moving forward, we’ll be introducing a major core gateway upgrade in May – check the release notes for guidance on taking the update! This gateway will enable a host of new security and traffic management policies, and dedicated UIs for mTLS and CORS configuration. We’ll also be certifying a containerized gateway option for additional deployment flexibility.
Have a product or technical question? Want to try out the newest features? Check out the API Management Product Forum or join our APIM Early Access program.
Integration Runtime
The Integration Runtime roadmap remains focused on themes that enable you to effectively run and manage ever-growing integration and API demands.
Our primary focus continues to be on our Elastic Executions feature, a re-architecting of our cloud runtime to take advantage of Kubernetes’ native capabilities for auto-scaling and cluster managements. This will help you better scale integrations, reduce operational management, and make more efficient use of resources. We’ll be first rolling these enhancements out to Boomi’s public clouds, and then make it available to private cloud owners, along with reference architecture, deployment guides, and Kubernetes Helm charts to adopt for your self-managed runtimes.
We know that being able to move lots of data is only part of the battle: you need to be able to effectively manage and monitor that activity at scale too. That’s why we’ll be making it easier than ever to plug your Boomi runtimes into your third party application monitoring tools. Using the standard Open Telemetry protocol, you’ll be able to stream events, metrics, and logs into tools such as New Relic, Data Dog, Splunk, and more.
Recent Delivery Highlights
For customers looking for a zero-footprint, cloud-based runtime managed by Boomi, but have workload demands beyond the Boomi public cloud, we will be launching additional cloud options coming soon. These new options allow you to run higher workloads and increased throughput while still leveraging a cost-effective, multi-tenant runtime environment managed by Boomi. If you’re looking to upgrade from your current cloud deployment or even move integrations from an on-premises runtime, check out the new shared cloud options to see if they’re right for you.
