Integration Runtime
The Integration Runtime roadmap is centered around three essential themes designed to enhance your ability to manage and respond to the growing demands of integrations and APIs: scalability, cluster persistence, and observability.
A key focus of our scalability initiative is the introduction of the Elastic Executions feature. This advancement represents a major leap forward in our cloud runtime architecture, which will utilize Kubernetes’ built-in auto-scaling and cluster management features. This will enable dynamic scaling, lowers operational overhead, and optimizes resource utilization. Initially, these improvements will be offered in Boomi’s hosted cloud environments, with plans to extend availability to private cloud users in the near future. To support ease of adoption for self-managed runtimes, we will provide detailed reference architectures, deployment guides, and Kubernetes Helm charts.
While effective data movement at scale is vital, the ability to manage and monitor that data is equally important. To this end, we are implementing seamless integration with third-party application monitoring solutions. By adopting the Open Telemetry standard, you will be able to stream events, metrics, logs, and traces directly into popular monitoring tools like New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, and others. This capability will empower you to troubleshoot issues more efficiently and maintain optimal health for your runtimes.

API Management
The Boomi API Control Plane was launched in July to complement the Boomi API Gateway. It introduces several new product capability areas including API Governance, API Products, and a new Developer Portal. Take the Guided Tour to see how it discovers APIs across eight different API Management platforms, generates quality and security scores, highlights shadow and zombie APIs, enables bundling and documenting APIs by their business context, and drives adoption with a delightful Portal experience.
We also continue to deliver key API Management capabilities across our three roadmap themes: Provider Experience, Consumer Experience, and Policy & Security.
Provider Experience
We’ve improved the API Provider Experience with better end-to-end support of creating and deploying APIs in different environments. Moving forward we’ll be working on AI-driven documentation and API design, Event discovery and federation, and enhancements to our Business Value Analytics.
Consumer Experience
We introduced a new Developer Portal in the API Control Plane, enabling more sophisticated use cases around publishing API Products to internal and external consumers from the same highly-configurable Portal. Moving forward, we’ll be adding an API Sandbox, improving the Consumer Experience for other API protocols and patterns, and enabling consumers with AI codegen for consumption and orchestration.
Policy & Security
Building on the upgrade to the API Gateway we released in May, we have added highly configurable CORS management at the gateway and API layers and introduced new quality of service, security, and mediation policies. These include a Circuit Breaker policy to handle increased backend latency or errors, a Resource Filtering policy to allow access to only specific paths and operations, an Override HTTP Method policy to change operations (from GET to POST, for example), and an XML to JSON policy to do high-performance transformations in the Gateway.
Moving forward, we’re introducing mTLS and client certificate authentication and even more new policies for mediation and customization through scripting. Our containerized gateway is in early access, and we’ll be moving that to GA as we enhance it based on early feedback. We’re also introducing Cloud API Management based on our acquisition of Mashery and enhancing API Governance in the API Control Plane.
