Product Innovation Highlights
Boomi Agentstudio General Availability
AI agents are goal-oriented software systems that can operate autonomously, learn and adapt intelligently, perform specialized tasks, and can use tools to take real action inside enterprise systems. They’re a practical way of applying the power of AI models, such as large language models (LLMs), to discrete tasks, such as building integrations, documenting data pipelines, scheduling meetings, creating approving expense reports, creating a customer account in a CRM systems, or placing an order in a supply chain. AI agents can operate on their own or work together to coordinate complex operations. They can also be embedded into existing business processes — such as integration processes or automated workflows — to streamline operations through dynamic reasoning and decision making. By putting the immense power of AI models, data, and data tools to work on practical business tasks, AI agents are the building blocks for the next generation of automation in companies.
Until now, though, companies have lacked a systematic way of building, running, managing, and governing AI agents, especially at scale. Governance for AI agents is critical. AI agents might be handling sensitive data, such as customer records or other personally identifiable information (PII). Businesses need to ensure that AI agents always operate in compliance with all applicable business rules and industry standards. (For example, a user running an HR agent to access HR data shouldn’t be able to access data the user wouldn’t be allowed to access in traditional HR applications themselves.) Businesses need visibility into and control over all their AI agents at all times, whether those agents number in the tens, hundreds, thousands, or more.
Boomi Agentstudio (formerly Boomi AI Studio)— which Boomi announced at the HumanX Conference in March — is the only full agent lifecycle management solution for AI agents, empowers organizations to design, govern, and orchestrate all AI agents at scale within a secure, no-code environment. By combining intuitive tools with enterprise-grade governance, Boomi Agentstudio responsibly accelerates AI agent development for real-world use cases, from customer support to expense report automation.
To do their work, AI agents need access to real-time data using tools, specialized functions that allow agents to gather information to complete tasks. These tools include integrations, automations, APIs, databases, and prompts that now can be connected to and through the Boomi platform.
Boomi announced plans to support Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for making data and tools available to AI agents. By supporting MCP, Boomi enables agents to access MCP servers, providing access to an even broader range of tools. Boomi Agentstudio supports MCP, enabling Boomi customers to take advantage of this important standard for expanding the capabilities of agents. And Boomi supports MCP generally, providing the ability to discover, govern, secure tools whether they are integration processes, APIs, golden records and more.
Boomi is also expanding its support of AI technologies to include Amazon Q Business, Amazon’s generative AI-powered assistant for businesses. Instead of relying solely on general AI knowledge, AI agents developed with Agentstudio can now be grounded in a company’s entire knowledge base, which is accessible through Amazon Q—resulting in smarter, more accurate, and context-aware responses. Imagine an agent that doesn’t just react to shipping delays based on general knowledge gleaned from the internet but instead makes intelligent decisions based on customer contracts, business rules, previous issue resolutions, partner networks, and other data — all of which is available through a company’s knowledge base. Boomi Agentstudio makes it easier than ever to build sophisticated AI agents like these, dramatically enhancing the value that agents can provide.
Boomi is strengthening its partnership with Amazon in other ways, too. Boomi is now an approved Data Processor enabled for all Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers — a milestone that brings powerful, enterprise-grade functionality to those building AI agents on AWS. Agentstudio now offers expanded agent support with centralized registration of Agentforce agents in addition to Amazon Bedrock agents, enabling unified governance across providers.
The recently launched Agent Step now lets developers seamlessly embed AI agents registered through Agentstudio directly into integration processes in the Process Canvas. This enables teams to further add intelligent automation and real-time reasoning to any workflows.Because agents are managed in Agentstudio, developers still maintain full visibility and control as they streamline and accelerate business processes.

Support for MuleSoft API Gateways
At Boomi World, we also announced support for MuleSoft API Gateways in Boomi API Management, so that customers using MuleSoft can now discover and govern MuleSoft APIs in the Boomi Enterprise Platform. Boomi API Management already supports API gateways from Boomi, Apigee, AWS, Azure, Broadcom, gravitee.io, Kong, and WSO2. With the addition of MuleSoft, we are making it easier than ever for business and IT teams to build, discover, and govern APIs across an even broader selection of API vendors.
By advancing federation with dynamic API discovery across MuleSoft gateways, Boomi is underscoring its commitment to open, flexible support for diverse landscapes. Organizations can now achieve centralized governance, security, and complete visibility across all APIs, including those from MuleSoft — accelerating API adoption and reuse while ensuring freedom from vendor lock-in.
Centralized control of all APIs across vendor platforms is essential for taming API sprawl, boosting API adoption, and reducing API security risks. Improving visibility and governance over APIs also improves an organization’s overall readiness, making it easier to give AI agents access to the business-critical data they need.
A Platform Approach for a Fragmented Digital World
Businesses today suffer from digital fragmentation. Too many data systems are siloed and unmanaged. Data records are missing or in conflict. APIs are unmanaged and too often unsecured. Shadow IT now includes shadow data, shadow APIs, and even shadow AI systems. Chaos is everywhere. To move forward and seize the opportunities available with AI, APIs, and other innovative technologies, companies need to connect all their digital assets — data, APIs, AI agents, and more — in a single platform, so that every asset can be easily discovered, managed, and put to work. Boomi, uniquely, is that platform. And the announcements we made at Boomi World 2025 testify to that achievement.
“Boomi is uniquely positioned at the intersection of AI, enterprise data, and business process automation,” said Ed Macosky, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Boomi. “As originators of the iPaaS category — and the first integration and automation platform to introduce AI agents with full lifecycle management — Boomi continues to lead the industry forward. With today’s announcements, we’re setting a new standard for AI-driven automation, empowering organizations to move faster, operate smarter, and unlock the full value of their data.”
Customers and analysts agree.
“As enterprises accelerate AI adoption, they require data platforms that bridge silos, streamline data management, and deliver intelligent automation,” said Matt Aslett, director of research at ISG. “Boomi’s platform approach is well placed for this opportunity — combining integration, automation, API management, and data management with AI-native capabilities to meet the challenges of digitally fragmented enterprises.”
