Event Streams
We are thrilled to announce the latest advancements in our Q2 2025 roadmap, which focuses on three core themes: enhancing connectivity and observability, delivering innovative solutions, and providing a seamless experience. These initiatives align with our overarching goal of improving the performance and scalability of our core product, enhancing security, and ensuring a cohesive user experience for all our customers.
Event Streams REST API (Produce) – Enhancement
We are excited to introduce a significant enhancement to our Event Streams REST API. Users can now easily copy REST API URLs via a dedicated “View REST” link, streamlining the process of accessing and utilizing our API. Producers can send messages in their original formats — such as plain text, XML, or JSON — without the need for data transformation. This flexibility allows for greater ease of use and efficiency in message handling. Additionally, message properties can now be included as part of the header, and access is facilitated through environment tokens used as Bearer Tokens.
These enhancements are a direct result of your valuable feedback, which has guided us in making improvements that truly meet your needs. Furthermore, we are expanding protocol support to include Kafka, enabling seamless integration with existing Kafka configurations and opening up new avenues for data ingestion into Boomi.
Enhancing Connectivity and Observability
As we look ahead, we are committed to implementing audit logging. This feature will include a notification service for tracking activities such as the creation, editing, and deletion of environments, topics, subscriptions, and region changes. By enhancing transparency and governance within the platform, we aim to provide our users with greater control and oversight of their data flows.
Innovative Solutions
In our pursuit of delivering innovative solutions, we are enhancing the Event Streams connector with a dedicated acknowledgment operation. This new feature will allow users to confirm message processing flexibly throughout the workflow. Users will have the ability to control exactly when they want to acknowledge messages and remove them from the topic, providing greater operational flexibility.
Next on our roadmap is the introduction of dynamic topic routing with filtering. This capability will empower users to perform custom mapping of topics and apply header-based conditions to filter messages effectively. By ensuring that only relevant messages are processed and routed to consumers, we are enabling more efficient and targeted data handling.
Looking further into the future, we plan to launch a schema registry. This feature will allow users to apply profiles to topics and enforce specific data types, enhancing data integrity and consistency across the platform.
Providing a Seamless Experience
Our team is also dedicated to providing a seamless user experience. We are focused on simplifying the connector operations UI and implementing performance tuning measures to reduce latency and improve overall usability. Additionally, we are planning to implement message batching functionality for producing messages in Event Streams. This enhancement will significantly improve throughput and efficiency, allowing users to handle larger volumes of data with ease.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we progress through 2025!

API Management
In February we relaunched our unified Boomi API Management solution, including integrated provisioning, onboarding, single sign-on, and navigation to provide all our capabilities to customers on our API Management Professional Plus edition and above. We’re excited to continue delivering new features across our enhanced themes, including Provider Experience, Consumer Experience, Policy & Security, Federation & Events, Governance & Analytics, and Infrastructure & Operations.
Aside from the new combined launch, in Q1 we also delivered new capabilities across our offering. The API Gateway now has mediation and customization policies for maximum flexibility in transforming transaction payloads, as well as a containerized form factor for flexible deployment and scale. We’ve also broadened your ability to discover APIs early in their lifecycle by releasing two recipes in the Boomi Marketplace for GitHub and Bitbucket discovery. These find any OpenAPI specifications in those repositories and register them in the Control Plane for scoring, curation, and iteration. These recipes can also be extended to support custom sources of discovery. Last but certainly not least, we’ve introduced AI-driven API documentation that generates technical, quickstart, or business value documentation for your APIs, reducing time to market by automating an important but tedious task.
Provider Experience
We’ll be continuing this AI-driven enablement of the early API lifecycle by introducing API design automation, enabling domain experts or integration developers to define the goals and target personas for an API and generating the relevant OpenAPI specification. You’ll then be able to send that API design to Boomi Integration for backend implementation. These provider experiences will continue to get easier and more automated as we leverage AI and our federation capabilities to accelerate the end-to-end design/document/secure/deploy/publish pipeline.
Consumer Experience
We’ll also be enhancing the consumer experience by providing sample code templates for consumption, a sandbox to test mock versions of your APIs, and multiple SaaS portals with distinct branding and URLs to address different consumer constituencies.
Policy & Security
We’ll be introducing an enhanced GraphQL registration and policy enforcement experience as part of a larger investment in policy breadth and the policy management experience, including the ability to discover policy templates from connected environments and push new APIs using selected templates for centralized security governance.
Federation & Events
We’ll be expanding the breadth of sources for API discovery, starting with a MuleSoft agent and an SDK for creating new agents, then expanding to discovering message brokers and events for productization and subscription alongside APIs.
Governance & Analytics
As APIs are used as tools by AI agents, we’ll be introducing governance around security, access, and enablement for agentic use cases. We’ll also be broadening the Business Value Analytics introduced in Cloud API Management to include API health, adoption, and traffic trends across all supported API platforms. This centralized view of your entire API program will deliver AI-driven insights to drive better decision-making about new and existing investments.
Infrastructure & Operations
We will continue to deliver maximum flexibility in deployment patterns and scaling to align with our scalable Boomi Runtimes and Cloud options. We’ll also add support for Open Telemetry as a standard method for integrating with third-party operational monitoring tools.
