As part of our ongoing commitment to provide superior experiences and services to our customers, we’re pleased to announce that the new and improved Boomi Community has arrived!

Built on the Salesforce Community Cloud platform, the new Community will continue to offer Boomi customers all of the helpful content and programs they have come to expect, plus much more.

The new site makes it easy for you to get the help you need, as well as providing a great collaborative forum to connect with your fellow integration professionals. It puts the information that you need at your fingertips, with an intuitive interface coupled with expanded search capabilities and content filtering.

All combined, the new Boomi Community makes it easier than ever for you to find the answers you need to make the most of your investment in the Boomi platform. And if you can’t find what you need, Boomi’s new and improved support center is integrated within the Community.

All Boomi customers have free access to the Community and its content. And Boomi customers can access the Community directly from within our platform, making it even easier to join the tens of thousands of active Boomi users who regularly share their expertise and assistance.

“Working Out Loud” to Help Others

Our goal for the Boomi Community has always been to support customer success in every way possible. Core to the purpose of the Community, “working out loud” — asking questions, sharing tips and answering the questions posed by your peers — leads to faster resolution of common integration challenges. As an added benefit, helping others increases your own reputation as an industry expert.

User groups and forums in the Community offer plenty of opportunities for you to share your knowledge, connect with colleagues and learn from other experts. The folks that make the most of these Community features are known as Community Champions. Through their contributions and commitment to supporting others, these individuals make the Community the best possible resource for Boomi integration professionals.

Even with good documentation, it is impossible to capture all the real-world scenarios that might face an integration architect. And that’s where forums and knowledge-based articles shine, says Community Champion John Moore, a senior software engineer at Solera Health. Every member of Moore’s integration teams uses the Boomi Community every day.

“Even as a so-called “expert” now, I still find lots of answers and help from the Community,” Moore says. “And I’ve posted a lot of answers as well. Usually, it’s just about helping people get started using Boomi. Once they are oriented to the tool, they are usually off and running.”

Many of our Community Champions have reported that they have been able to find the answers they needed to solve their own problems in a matter of hours. That has proven far more effective than creating a support ticket and having to work through a more structured diagnostic process.

“Being an active member in the community has improved my knowledge of Boomi and how it functions,” says Community Champion Trey Yeager, a software developer at Flint Hill Resources. “When I bring the knowledge and the troubleshooting skills I have gained back to our team of developers, it means better integrations with a lower cost of maintenance and faster delivery time.”

Get the Most From the New Community

Now that the new Community is here, there are a few tasks you should complete to make sure you’re getting the most out of it.

  • Update your profile: Your basic user profile has been migrated over from the previous Community, but there are a few new fields. This is a great time to make sure all your information is up-to-date. Also, add an avatar if you don’t have one already.
  • Set up email notifications: You’ll find notification configuration options in your new profile. You decide what type of interaction should trigger an email: comments, replies, @mentions and more — or disable email notifications altogether. Following specific content such as blogs, articles and ideas will also trigger notifications.
  • Join user groups: We’ve made some changes to the group experience. If you were a member of any groups previously, be sure to rejoin them or take the opportunity to join new groups.
  • Explore: Familiarize yourself with the new layout, features, functionality and marketplace, plus training and certification options. We’ve designed the new Community to be as intuitive as possible, so you should be able to readily find everything you need.
  • Share: Continue to share your expert knowledge, product feedback, examples and ideas with the Community. It is the knowledge of our Community that makes us all better at integration.

Whether it’s through continually improving and expanding the Boomi Community, developing and enhancing products, offering more education, training and certification programs or any other initiative, we are committed to helping our customers get the most out of their investment in Boomi. With your help, we can continue to innovate and build an industry-leading Community experience.

“To Boomi professionals who have not been involved in the Boomi Community, I would say spend some time there,” says Community Champion Michael Morthala, an integration developer who works for Deloitte in India. “You will learn something; you will stay current with all the ways in which Boomi is constantly improving, and you will help others. The whole Community benefits.”
