When healthcare professionals talk about the benefits of a 360-degree view of the patient — or Patient360 — the discussion often ignores the complexities involved in pulling that off. Patient360 demands that organizations convert systems of record into systems of engagement. Or rather, it is about making it possible for new, modern systems of engagement to easily draw data from existing systems of record.
That, in turn, requires a platform that allows all the players in the healthcare lifecycle, which include payers, providers, third-party services used by either, and patients to exchange data securely with a minimum of friction.

Retailers running Oracle NetSuite have a sound enterprise resource planning (ERP) foundation for financial, inventory and order management. NetSuite also provides ecommerce, point-of-sale (POS) and customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities, but many retailers elect to use best-of-breed software for those functions. Often, third-party marketing automation software will also be in place.
That introduces challenges in how merchants can meet rising customer expectations for a seamless omnichannel experience. Integration that connects NetSuite with disparate systems is mandatory for retailers to gain a unified 360-degree customer view and deliver personalized engagement across all channels.

As we noted in our first post about the European Union’s update to its 1995 Data Protection Directive — the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — many CIOs in the United States are expecting to spend a million dollars or more to comply with GDPR.
It’s hard to quibble with that kind of money, but millions of dollars won’t be enough — unless they’re spent wisely. And that means CIOs need a plan.

Consumers generate data every time they interact with a brand. Clicking a digital ad, browsing a website, cashing out at a brick-and-mortar store, or using a retailer’s mobile app…each interaction creates a veritable gold mine of information that retailers and consumer goods companies can use to drive sales.
If properly harnessed, that data provides the foundation for customer experience management (CEM) — the ability to understand consumer behavior and preferences, create a unified 360-degree customer view, and generate insights for consistent, personalized engagement across any channel.

For large companies in utilities, mining and other heavy industries, it’s a time of upheaval in IT. Investments made in large, monolithic applications over the past 25 years are now reaching — or are well past — their end of life. At the same time, exciting new technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) beckon. But not everyone is ready to adopt these new technologies — or knows how to do so effectively.

For years, European financial services customers have demanded more choice, better deals and superior customer service from their banks. In 2018 their wish be will granted. The EU’s Open Banking initiative forces banks to expose their customer data and payments infrastructure to third parties. This means digital payments and deep spending insights will be fully available to customers for the first time.
Open banking brings about a whole new challenge. It is a cultural, as well as technological, shift.

The European Union (EU) Data Protection Directive was passed in 1995. However, it didn’t foresee all the changes that would happen because of the evolution of digital technology. As a result, an update was needed. And now it will be shortly. The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) takes effect on May 25, 2018.
Though certainly not a fix for every aspect of the GDPR, data and application integration can play an important role in how organizations respond to GDPR requirements.
