Boomi has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™ Adaptive Process Orchestration Software, Q3 2026 — a brand new Forrester category. We also received the highest score for Strength of Strategy. Boomi was highlighted for our platform adoption, roadmap, vendor-agnostic control, and positioning around sovereignty.

As a technologist, receiving this placement from Forrester is particularly rewarding because the analyst firm’s Wave evaluations are among the most demanding. We also believe this new category matters as businesses wrestle with agentic process orchestration to coordinate agents, human workers, and software systems in complex workflows.

New Software Category

As AI changes everything in ways that we’re still trying to understand, new technology tools are emerging.

In April, Forrester released the “The Adaptive Process Orchestration Software Landscape, Q2 2026” report, in which the firm detailed its thinking behind this emerging category that supports AI. Forrester defined it this way: “An automation platform that uses AI agents and non-deterministic control flows in addition to traditional deterministic control flows to meet business goals, perform complex tasks, and make autonomous decisions.”

Essentially, the category combines rules-based, deterministic automation with AI agents and probabilistic workflows to manage complex business processes and enable operations with limited human involvement. It brings together capabilities from categories including integration platform as a service (iPaaS), robotic process automation (RPA), business process automation, and event-driven architecture. It describes how organizations can streamline operations and consolidate disparate, overlapping automation tools, with governance, auditability, and hybrid execution.

We believe this is Boomi’s wheelhouse.

Our proven ability to digitally transform fragmented, siloed landscapes into cohesive, seamless machines remains Boomi’s core competency. When businesses need to connect their CRMs, ERPs, and other foundational systems, our platform is the best option. Now, those same capabilities are also the prerequisites for successful AI. They function as critical infrastructure for providing the contextualized, trusted, and well-governed data that agents and models need to make well-informed decisions and take action.
