Obiettivi

While implementing project portfolio management solutions for customers, Innotas integration capabilities ensure that applications can share data quickly and easily. Although Innotas’ software had its own API, integration with customer systems still required hiring staff to write the code to build custom integrations and support it. As Innotas expanded, creating proprietary integrations added to their costs, and they soon realized they needed a more efficient and repeatable model.

“We needed to scale, and we needed to scale quickly. Boomi made that possible,” said Tim Madewell, senior vice president of Professional Services at Innotas.

Providing data transparency

The Innotas Integration Platform powered by Boomi consists of three critical components to enable complete data transparency between system silos in organizations: the integration platform, the connectors, and the business logic to configure them. For fast implementation, Innotas leverages Boomi’s prebuilt library of application and standard technology connectors and business logic. These provide a configuration approach to build and modify integration processes. For flexibility and accessibility, the Innotas solution uses Boomi AtomSphere integration platform as a service (iPaaS) to deliver central, secure management between Innotas and any cloud-based or on-premises application.

The Integration Platform gives customers visibility into the integrations by centrally managing health and activity, transaction logs, and technical support. And by using its own Visual Integration Technology™, Innotas can quickly build integrations, enable customers to reduce their time-to-value and streamline the process of managing complex integrations. Among the integrations Innotas provides its customers through its Cloud Portfolio Management solutions are service or help desk solutions, agile work management, financial systems and human resource systems.

“We saw the Boomi integration as a natural extension of our business in the cloud as a service and subscription-based model,” Madewell said. “By using Boomi for integration, we can get our customers up and running quickly by building, running and maintaining the integrations between Innotas solutions and the other applications that run their business.”

The Innotas Integration Platform now manages application integration with solutions such as ServiceNow, Atlassian JIRA, Version One, Rally, BMC, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and the financial modules of SAP and PeopleSoft. Innotas also uses Boomi AtomSphere for integration between Salesforce and its own environment, providing valuable usage data that assists with the Innotas customer success metrics dashboard.

Automating integration, centralizing management

With Boomi AtomSphere handling integration, Innotas spends more time innovating its own products and less time developing expensive, difficult-to-maintain custom integrations.

AtomSphere provides Innotas with a holistic view of resources, centralized management of all customer integrations and high availability and efficiency. And because there’s no hardware to buy or software to install and maintain, updates are implemented centrally, eliminating repeated rollouts of new software. Whether working with a financial services customer or a customer that is new to cloud or cloud-to-on-premises integration, Madewell notes that “The credibility of Boomi speaks volumes for us. It works even in situations where we’re highly scrutinized in terms of capability or security.”

Previously, creating custom-coded integrations comprised the longest phase of the implementation process. Boomi offered a faster, repeatable implementation process as a service in the cloud. This flexible model allows Innotas to quickly integrate customers’ applications whether they reside in the cloud or on premises.

Adding Boomi to their product portfolio eliminated the need for Innotas product development to handle integrations. As a result, the company was able to bring the Innotas Integration Platform to market quickly and save time on integration development for its customers. Offering integration with Boomi has had a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. Innotas recognized a return on investment of more than 200 percent in the first year, and has experienced year-over-year growth in integrations sold to both new and existing customers.

“Boomi integration is a differentiator for us. When integration is included, our average new deal size is increased by 25 percent,” said Madewell.
