Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC)

Toowoomba Regional Council leveraged the Boomi platform to enhance its connected data capabilities, streamline resident engagement and improve Internet of Things water service management.

Geschäftliche Ziele

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC), situated in southeast Queensland, Australia, houses over 180,000 residents. To improve how it engages with residents, TRC launched a digital transformation program. From online water bill payments, to development applications, and maintenance requests, TRC wanted to create seamless digital experiences, streamline processes for staff and simplify resident experiences.

The council decided to implement a connected data framework, which would make the right information available at the right time for both residents and council staff.

Herausforderungen bei der Integration

TRC’s disparate technology environment provided inaccurate views of its systems due to point-to-point integration, error-prone processes, and time-consuming data entry and retrieval. For instance, residents had trouble accessing documents online, and staff spent too much time investigating issues and manually amending systems.

Wie Boomi geholfen hat

TRC implemented the Boomi integration platform as a service (iPaaS) to connect its business-critical applications.

By connecting the council’s electronic document management system; ERP software; people, property, and regulatory software; property development portal; smart parking system; and waste services system connected, Boomi helped TRC eliminate data silos and improve community service delivery.

Ergebnisse

TRC improved data management by using Boomi to gain a 360-degree view of data — improving governance and reducing administrative touchpoints. The council captures metrics on the online engagement of residents, which allows staff to respond in real time.

Boomi-powered digital connectedness also enabled the council to comply with new state government requirements to make property development documents available online for public consumption. And, Boomi supported the council’s water infrastructure refresh by synchronizing smart meters and automating meter readings.
