Boomi Data Services for Pivotal Platform, now generally available, makes Boomi a first-class native Pivotal Platform Service. We’re pleased to announce that as of late last month, it’s now GA!
Boomi Data Services makes it fast and easy to connect Pivotal Platform environments, services and applications with your enterprise applications, data and devices — whether in the cloud or on-premise.
The multi-cloud Pivotal Platform allows customers to continuously and securely deliver custom software. Boomi complements these agile and rapid deployment capabilities, greatly streamlining any Pivotal Platform-related integration task.
Connect, Run, Scale
Pivotal Platform developers can rely on Boomi for performant, scalable data services that connect their applications to applications and data anywhere in an IT ecosystem. The Boomi integration platform as a service (iPaaS) provides great agility, quick time to release and low cost of ownership for initial implementation and over the evolution of an application.
Boomi Data Services for Pivotal Platform extends Boomi Integration by installing and managing a Boomi runtime (Private Atom Cloud) as a service on the Pivotal Platform runtime of choice — Pivotal Application Service (PAS) or Pivotal Container Service (PKS).
Both PAS and PKS installations include all needed resources for a complete environment, including multiple zone support and the ability to horizontally scale through automation. Implemented as a true Pivotal Platform service, Boomi Data Services for Pivotal Platform includes all required components to support API/data service use cases.
First, Boomi Data Services registers its service broker with Pivotal Platform. The service broker is responsible for making Boomi Data Services (REST, SOAP, ODATA) discoverable from within the Pivotal Services Marketplace.
Pivotal Platform developers can then find and access those services via the Marketplace. Developers identify the services their applications need, create their own instance (endpoint) and bind that instance to their application.
Pivotal Platform best practices, such as continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD), are supported by Boomi Data Services.
Support for PAS and PKS
Pivotal Platform is designed to help customers manage applications throughout their lifecycle — from development to testing to production. And that may require using different service environments for different types of apps, or for testing purposes:
Pivotal Application Service. PAS, a modern runtime for Java, .NET and Node apps, is architected to support cloud-native applications, continuous delivery and horizontal scalability for world-class uptime.
Pivotal Container Service. PKS is an enterprise Kubernetes platform that helps small teams of operators efficiently deploy and run containerized workloads across private and public clouds.
Boomi Data Services is compatible with both PAS and PKS, providing Pivotal operators with the same seamless installation and management experience on the architecture of their choice.
