Dell Boomi Helps AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah Move to the Cloud

BERWYN, Pa. – Dell Boomi, the world’s largest integration cloud, today announced that AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah auto club (AAA NCNU) has standardized on Dell Boomi to manage its business transition to the cloud. AAA NCNU will use the power of Dell Boomi AtomSphere® to simplify cloud and software-as-a-service (SaaS) application integration across more than 50 applications including salesforce.com, Workday and Zuora.

In January 2011, AAA NCNU – the second largest AAA club in the United States offering roadside assistance, insurance sales, travel and membership services to more than 4 million members in Northern California, Nevada and Utah – split into two companies: an insurance carrier and the auto club. While the auto club will operate independently and focus on sales and membership services, the previously shared IT assets will remain a part of the insurance arm. At the same time, the auto club has taken an aggressive approach toward cloud computing that includes heavy adoption of key SaaS applications for running their subscription-based business.

AAA NCNU needed an integration solution to seamlessly maintain the flow of data between the formerly-combined IT infrastructure and the new SaaS applications being deployed in the auto club. The organization evaluated integration appliances and hosted traditional integration solutions, but felt that Dell Boomi offered a more innovative cloud solution and better support throughout the evaluation process. AAA NCNU chose Dell Boomi for its true multi-tenant architecture, ease of deployment and fast time to value for configuring integrations between their different development environments.

“With so much of our business running in the cloud with data distributed between SaaS, legacy applications, databases from the insurance arm, and hosted applications, integrating the data with a cloud-based solution became imperative,” said Soheil Zohreh, VP and CTO of AAA NCNU. “Dell Boomi offers us the ability to connect our key existing business technology seamlessly with a cloud based architecture, which met the vision and expectations of our CIO, Craig Butler. Just as important, its distributed architecture enables centralized management of integrations and ease of use for cloud-to-cloud, cloud-to-on-premises and on-premises to on-premises integrations, which makes it a standout differentiator from competitors.”

According to Kirk Heughens, application integration leader at AAA NCNU responsible for the vendor product selection, “the low maintenance costs of AtomSphere, zero hardware and software footprint, and rapid process development and deployment also played an important part in AAA NCNU’s decision to work with Dell Boomi.” AtomSphere connects any combination of cloud, SaaS and on-premises applications, and is delivered through the cloud, reducing the time and cost associated with application and data integration.

“Dell Boomi partnered with AAA NCNU to achieve cloud integration success by using our unrivaled AtomSphere cloud integration service, and we look forward to working with them on expanding a streamlined, powerful solution that provides a great ROI model,” said Rick Nucci, founder and CTO, Dell Boomi. “I am incredibly excited that this agreement signals another Dell Boomi enterprise customer that is leveraging AtomSphere as their SOA platform, a step forward for Dell Boomi, and further validation of this solution as the future of application integration.”
