When healthcare professionals talk about the benefits of a 360-degree view of the patient — or Patient360 — the discussion often ignores the complexities involved in pulling that off. Patient360 demands that organizations convert systems of record into systems of engagement. Or rather, it is about making it possible for new, modern systems of engagement to easily draw data from existing systems of record.
That, in turn, requires a platform that allows all the players in the healthcare lifecycle, which include payers, providers, third-party services used by either, and patients to exchange data securely with a minimum of friction.

Integration plays an increasingly important role in IT, connecting applications and APIs, spanning cloud services and internal networks, automating workflows and delivering that most sought-after quality for daily operations: agility.
As integration workloads increase, performance and scalability become critical issues. Organizations can’t afford to have integration processes hit bottlenecks because of limitations in CPU power, memory or network bandwidth.
In integration, as in other areas of IT, performance matters. IT organizations should consider how they’re going scale integration processes to meet the needs of business users and the workflows they depend on.

On Wednesday, March 20, 2018, Salesforce announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire MuleSoft for approximately $6.5 billion. Salesforce indicates that MuleSoft will power what it is calling its new “Salesforce integration cloud.”
That is a great vision and promise. It is one that we enthusiastically support. The best news? The Integration Cloud is available today. It’s been here for more than a decade. It’s called Boomi.

Your organization might be using a legacy middleware tool for integration that’s capably served your needs for years. But now you have new integration projects in the pipeline, and cloud-based integration has emerged as a viable alternative. What to do?
It’s a question I hear often in my role as managing partner at TechStone Technology Partners. Founded in 2004, we’re an IT consulting shop based in Houston, Texas, that has decades of experience with legacy and modern cloud integration technologies for both mid-sized and large enterprise companies.

IT modernization is on a fast track in Western Australia. Backed by an AUD$3 billion investment from the state government, an initiative promises to digitally transform how Western Australian government and businesses operate over the next 10 years.
The stakes are huge. Western Australia’s core economic engine, the mining industry, has been in gradual decline since it transitioned from a capital construction phase to a production phase in 2013.
The state government’s NextGov-ICT program is designed to save the state up to AUD$80 million a year, in part by transitioning from 60 standalone data centers to a hybrid cloud IT architecture.

Slalom is a leading, purpose-driven company that helps organizations use technology to address business problems and build for the future.
“Building for the future” often involves integrating with the legacy systems of the past. And the more entrenched those legacy systems are in your core business processes, the more likely you’ll need to adopt an iterative legacy modernization strategy that results in your data straddling two worlds, both legacy and the future.

With the rise of ecommerce, traditional brick-and-mortar retail and distribution organizations have been challenged to adapt to new fulfillment methods. They need to leverage their existing assets and retail footprint to create true omnichannel customer experience.
The involvement of large online shopping giants moving aggressively into local Australian markets has helped kick-start mature markets into thinking differently about how they are able to fulfill their customer orders.
