Laziness. Is that really a good habit for developers?
Search the internet for advice on the virtues of successful developers, and you’ll find a wealth of observations, not all of which exactly square with one another. The differences shouldn’t be surprising. People vary, and successful people will vary in how they go about achieving success.
Beneath these variations, though, there are common, road-tested practices — habits — for addressing the challenges of producing excellent software — whether integrations or new applications — day after day, under tight deadlines, and in the face of shifting technical requirements and business conditions.

From Integration to Synchronization: Using a Hub-Based Approach to Ensure Data Integrity Across Your Business
You’ve connected your most critical business applications to one another. Data — the lifeblood of any organization — is now moving easily from one system to another throughout your organization.
And now you need a way of ensuring the integrity of that data.
When the finance department updates a billing record, does that change make its way to the customer relationship management (CRM) application? When a warehouse receives a new shipment of products, is that information updated in a timely way across departments?

If you Google the term “customer engagement,” you’ll get a lot of responses. Like over 10 million. Similarly, “customer delight” returns nearly four million. Marketers want to “engage” their customers so they can “delight” them.
But customers often have very low expectations — experience being a brutal teacher — and so the bar for delight is set pretty low.
What does all this mean when it comes to developing mobile applications for your customers, partners, employees and suppliers?

Beyond Integration: Discovering the Benefits of API Management, Master Data Management and Workflow Automation
Many companies turn to integration to solve specific problems, such as connecting one business application to another. But Boomi integration platform as a service (iPaaS) offers much more than a low-code development environment for quickly building point-to-point connections.
Boomi also enables SMBs and enterprises to publish and manage APIs, enforce data quality with master data management, and automate workflows.
To appreciate the importance of these other features, let’s consider a topic that might seem unrelated to data integration and data management, but which turns out to depend on them heavily.

Have you noticed lately that virtually every new technology innovation, system, or application is “powered” by artificial intelligence (AI)? Is it really? Hmmm. I guess it depends on how much you want to water down the definition of AI.
One of my favorite quotes about AI comes from British author and technology theorist Tom Chatfield who writes, “Forget artificial intelligence — in the brave new world of big data, it’s artificial idiocy we should be looking out for.” Amen to that.

With the current popularity of the terms “cloud washing,” it’s good to start off with a basic premise: You can’t migrate a traditional on-premise application to a hosted environment like Amazon or Microsoft Azure and call it a cloud service.
There’s already a name for that software delivery model. It’s called application service provider (ASP). Not cloud. If you want to explore the differences, here’s one place to start.
Boomi has been offering a true cloud service — an integration platform as a service (iPaaS) — for 11 years now.
